- Spring Concert

May 1st 3:45 - 6:00pm Concert Rehearsal
May 3rd 6:30pm SPRING CONCERT
On Monday May 1st, all band students will have a rehearsal for the Spring Concert. Students will be fed pizza and drinks before this rehearsal begins. Please arrange for transportation from the rehearsal at 6:00pm. Please bring a folding music stand.
Our Spring Concert will be held this coming Wednesday May 3rd in the Stoneman Douglas Auditorium at 6:30pm. Students will be in their formal Concert Attire (Tux shirt, bow tie, black pants, black socks, and black shoes), if you have lost or missed placed these articles of clothing you may purchase them at After Hours Formal Wear in the Coral Springs Mall. Stoneman Douglas is located on the Northwest corner of the Sawgrass Expressway and Coral Springs Drive. The concert will begin promptly at 6:30pm, 6th Grade beginners should be on stage at 5:50pm. - Upcoming Events
- Please check updates to the Calendar of Events. In addition to the upcoming concerts and Band Awards banquet, we will also be having our second Car Wash fund raiser, this time at Wal-Mart on Nob Hill, on May 20th. Contact Joanne Spanoudis to volunteer time or materials.
- Florida Band Association (FBA) Competition

The CSMS Stallions Honor Band performed at the 2006 Florida Band Association competition at Flanagan High School in Pembroke Pines on April 1st, 2006. The Band performed three pieces on stage before a panel of judges, receiving grades of 'Excellent' on all three. They also were given a sight-reading test, where they had only five minutes to review new pieces of music, learn their parts, and perform before a judge. They received a 'Superior' rating on their sight reading performance. Please join us in congratulating the students and Mr. McNeil. Click HERE for pictures from the event.
- Solo Ensemble Competition
- Please join us in congratulating all of our students who represented CSMS at the 2006 Middle School Solo & Ensemble Competiton at Ramblewood Middle School on March 4th & 5th. A total of 19 students performed, all earning Excellent or Superior ratings!

- Banquet
- The 2005-2006 Band Awards Banquet will be held Thursday, May 11th from 6:30 to 9:30 PM at the Carolina Club. Tickets are $10 for Band members, and $25 for guests. Space is limited to the first 200 people who register. Click HERE to view and print a registration form.

- Winter Concert

- Picture Day
- Band Pictures for the 2005-2006 year will be taken on Wednesday, December 7th. Students are to bring their tuxedo shirts and bow ties in. Volunteers needed to help with preparing and 'arranging' students.
- Coral Springs Our Town Parade
- The CSMS Stallions Band (7th and 8th grade students) will be participating in the parade this year on Thursday, December 15th. Please note the Band Director's instructions on drop-off and pick-up locations and times. Due to limited parking along the parade route, car pooling is recommended.
- 2005-06 Band Video Pre-Orders
- You can now place your order for the 2005-06 Band DVD - order now and receive a 20% discount. Click HERE for an order form.
- 2005-06 Solo and Ensemble Festival
- The Solo and Ensemble Festival is coming. Students should be shopping for pieces to play at http://www.flmusiced.org/FBA/musiclists.htm or at their local music store. Beginners should be playing a FBA I or higher, Second year
students should be playing a FBA II or higher, and third year students
should be playing a FBA III or higher. Students should find works that are challenging but not impossible, remember it is always good to plan early and practice to ensure a quality performance. Private lessons are strongly encouraged.
- Auditions
- All-State Audition Audition:
Students must play for Mr. McNeil no later than August 24th to be entered into the audition. Students who play for Mr. McNeil will then Audtion for All-State on September 10th at Olsen Middle School. All-County Auditions:
Auditon material is the same as All-State when auditioning for All-County, but students will only play the first prepared piece instead of two prepared pieces. Students must play for Mr. McNeil no later than November 4th to be entered into the audition. Students who play for Mr. McNeil will then Audition for All-County on November 29th at Sunrise Middle School.
Private lessons are encouraged.
North Area Honor Band Audition
